Motorbike Rider Dies En-route to Group Lunch

A 66-year-old motorbike rider has died on route to a lunch planned with friends along the Burnett River near Mount Perry Gayndah Road.

The man was last seen around 11:30AM by members of the group on their way to the lunch he didn't arrive at.

Police received a call yesterday afternoon when the rider failed to return to Bundaberg.

Officers traced the route of the rider, locating him near Chowey Bridge.  The man was dead when they found him.

It is believed he hit a sign and was thrown from the bike.
