A Kingaroy woman driving in yesterday’s severe hail storm has sustained massive bruising as a result of sheilding her baby from the storm.

Three were injured in the incident after hail smashed their car window during the damaging storm yesterday afternoon.

A QAS spokeswoman said two females, one in their 70s and one in her 20s as well as an infant, sustained light cuts, abrasions and lacerations following hail that smashed into the car window while travelling on the D'Aguilar Hwy between Kingaroy and Nanango.

They were assessed by two emergency crews at the scene.

She later took to Facebook; "I've learnt my lesson, never drive in a hail storm."

She went on to describe covering her baby with her body when the windows blew out, leaving her back, arms and head badly bruised.
