A man and young boy were both killed while a six-year-old girl is left fighting for life.
Queensland Police report that a semi-trailer, which was towing a tri axle trailer, smashed into the white dual cab ute around 4.55pm on yesterday at the intersection of Kilroy Murgon Rd and the Bunya Highway in Murgon.
There were four occupants travelling in the ute, the 27-year-old male driver and a seven-year-old boy sitting in the rear seat, were both declared deceased at the scene.
A six-year-old girl is at the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital fighting for life after she sustained critical head injuries. She was rushed to the Murgon Hospital, where ambulance helicopter Rescue 511 airlifter her to Brisbane.
The fourth passenger, a one-year-old girl, suffered minor injuries and has since been released from hospital.
The truck driver was treated for shock but sustained no injuires.
Queensland Police are appealing for anyone who was travelling on the Bunya Highway or Kilcoy Murgon Rd around the time of the incident to contact them, especially if they have dashcam footage.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
