Griffith Base Hospital (GBF) have partnered with eHealth NSW to provide patients, visitors and staff with a new Wi-Fi service.

The system will allow for patients to stay connected with family and friends, access entertainment, and keep up with everyday life while hospitalised. Appropriate internet security filters have been put in place, while most patients utilise the Wi-Fi for communication services, music streaming, and social media.

GBH Business Operations Manager Ian Woolfe stated that since the system’s installation in July, the Wi-Fi has made a significant difference to patients who can now pass the time quickly, saying,“It also provides a great distraction from their treatment and they can do normal things like pay bills, shop online or keep up with work.”

The Wi-Fi is free to connect to, with the option of paying for a premium service with quicker download speeds.
