On Friday 17th August, 23 road trains loaded hay arrived in Condobolin as a part of the Rapid Relief Team’s (RRT) $2.6 million drought relief effort. The hay was delivered to drought-affected farmers by Plymouth Brethren Christian Church and other volunteers.

Among these included Angus Taylor, a farmer and Federal Member for Hume, who acknowledged the terrific contributions and efforts of the RRT.

Help has never been more in demand, with the NSW Government declaring 100% of the state is now in drought, and experts predicting that it will be the worst NSW drought in 40 years.

The hay donations brought great relief to the receiving farmers. Condobolin farmer Fiona Aveyard said, “We need all the assistance we can possibly receive during these desperate times… so this donation is a fantastic and much appreciated step in the right direction.”
