A feasibility study into a Riverina Regional Passenger Rail shuttle service between Albury, Wagga and Griffith has been endorsed at last night’s meeting of Wagga City Council.

A working group will be established through Riverina Regional Cities, to lobby for funding to develop the feasibility study, and seek majority funding from the state and federal governments.

It comes off the back of the release of the State Government’s Regional Vision in July, which identified the need for improving public transport between regional and metropolitan centres, and especially the critical need for connectivity between regional centres.
