Plenty of Riverina Budget Winners, but No Promises for Junee Sewerage

While there was no money committed in yesterday’s budget for a much-needed sewerage upgrade in Junee, there is still hope, with Cootamundra MP Katrina Hodgkinson confirming the project has been shortlisted for state government funding.

There were plenty of positives for the region, a new Ambulance station for Cootamundra, a Connected Learning Centre for Narrandera TAFE, and a waste water upgrade for Ardlethan among them.

The majority of the money for Riverina is being invested in ongoing big-ticket projects though, there’s another $19 million to continue work on the Gocup Road, $6.1 million to progress the Wagga Hospital redevelopment, continued work on a new Fire station for Henty, as well as money to finish off the $3.9 million Bethungra Dam Stabilisation project.

The Tumut community will benefit from some health funding, with money to start working on a new hospital, and upgrades to it’s ambulance station.
