No Time For Fire Complacency

Risk 'Greater Than Ever'

No Time For Fire Complacency

With Wagga set to reach 43 degrees by the end of the week, the Rural Fire Service is warning that the risk of grass fires is greater than ever.

Paddocks across the region are exceptionally dry, providing concerning levels of fuel for grass fires, especially after a wet winter.

Farmers are being encouraged to establish firebreaks around paddocks, homes and other valuable assets, maintain their machinery and know the fire danger rating before using equipment.

Our region has already seen a number of damaging blazes this season, including in West Wyalong and Urana.
