Murray Crayfish Season Opens

A great day for those wanting to catch Murray Crayfish, with today marking the start of the 2017 season.

Running from June 1 to the end of August, those chasing the spikey delicacies are being urged to follow all rules and safety percautions.

Fishers are also reminded to not over fish the clawed creatures, with bag limits restricted to 2 per day and a total possession of 4.

New South Wales Senior Inland Fisheries Manager Cameron Westaway says although studies suggest crayfish numbers are increasing, we still need to follow the rules
