Mayor Confirms Costs for Investigation Into Former GM
More Than $35,000 So Far
Wagga Mayor Greg Conkey has confirmed that more than $35,000 has been spent in legal costs and investigations into former General Manager Alan Eldridge.
Since February, $20,395 has been spent in legal costs, while another $15,492.64 has been paid to a private investigator employed to look into allegations made against the former GM.
Cr. Conkey says it should also be noted this is not a final figure, as Council expects further invoices, which will be made available to the public once they are received.
Meantime, Mr Eldridge has also released a statement, saying he considers that he has not been treated "within a natural justice framework".
Mr Eldridge also says he will not be making any further comment outside of the supplied statement, "due to legal action pending".
