Labor is calling on the Turnbull government to stop talking about inland rail, and start actually delivering on its promises, saying the project has already fallen behind schedule.

Shadow Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Anthony Albanese, says the CEO of the Australian Rail Track Corporation, John Fullerton, has confirmed that no land has been acquired for the proposed route.

Mr Albanese says despite a promise from the Coalition that construction would start by August 2016, the alignment for the route hasn’t been finalised yet.

The proposed route passes through Wagga, Junee and Stockinbingal.
