Farmer Confidence Drops

Dry Season To Blame

Farmer Confidence Drops

The latest Rural Confidence survey from Rabobank has shown that farmer confidence across the state has taken a dive, dropping to its lowest level since mid-2013, off the back of one of our driest winters on record.

The tables have turned after the longest period of net positive sentiment in the history of the survey, with confidence down across all surveyed regions, however, long term indicators have remained relatively strong.

Peter Anderson from Rabobank says canola has been hardest hit by the dry conditions, crops in the Central West have already gone to grazing, Riverina canola is emerging well, but there are already some pockets being challenged.
