Expansion Grant for Forest Hill Medical Centre

Forest Hill Medical Centre has been awarded 300 thousand dollars in funding to expand and improve its facilities, under the Turnbull government’s Rural General Practice Grants program.

Riverina MP Michael McCormack says the Kooringal Medical Centre has also been recommended for funding under the program, with negotiations continuing with the Department of Health.

Mr McCormack says better facilities will allow more doctors, nurses and other health workers to get hands-on training in general practices, which will also make them more likely to decide to stay in the region, or another rural community.
