Drug Prevention Boost For Tumut

The Tumut Shire will soon get its own Local Drug Action Team, with Minister for Regional Development, Fiona Nash, announcing 40 new LDAT locations across the country, with 180 more to come.

Ms Nash says it’s part of the $300 million in funding secured by herself and Justice Minister Michael Keenan for drug prevention, education and treatment following the National Ice Taskforce in 2015.

A National Crime Commission report from 2014 found ice dealers were targeting rural, regional and remote Australia.
