Councils Granted Funding for Roadside Reserves

Some of the Riverina’s local councils have been granted funding, to invest in programs designed to protect and manage roadside reserves, with the NSW Environmental Trust handing out $1.2 million dollars to 21 projects across the state.

The Wagga and Lockhart Councils have been awarded $88,000 in funding, while Temora Shire Council will get $47,000 , there’s $41,000 for Narrandera Shire, and almost $80,000 for Snowy Valleys.

President of Local Government NSW, Keith Rhoades says roadside reserves conserve habitat and prevent erosion, as well as having aesthetic and ecological value.
