Council Election Vote Counting Continues

Votes are being counted following Saturday’s Local Government elections for the Cootamundra-Gundagai and Snowy Valleys Federation Councils, with results expected to be finalised by the end of the week.

In Cootamundra-Gundagai, former Gundagai Shire Mayor Abb McAlister is leading the first-preference vote as of 5.30pm yesterday, his Group A independent candidates so far attracting just under 30 percent.

In Snowy Valleys, Bruce Wright and James Hayes are the front runners, both have more than 20 percent of first preferences so far.
