Work will start today on a $1.2 million rehabilitation project on a section of Byrnes Road in Wagga, with a 2.2 kilometre stretch between the Bavin Road intersection and East Bomen Road to be upgraded for increased heavy vehicle traffic.

The project will take up to five months to complete, though there’s not expected to be any full road closures, and access will be maintained for businesses in the area.

Director of Commercial Operations, Caroline Angel says these works, together with the Eunony Bridge upgrade, will complete the High Productivity Freight Route that Council has been working to create for a number of years.
