Wagga City Council has issued an alert for blue-green algae in Lake Albert.
Acting Manager for Environment and City Compliance Sharomi Dayanand has advised that people and domestic animals should avoid contact with water from the lake, with pets particularly at risk from the bloom.
In accordance with NHMRC guidelines, Lake Albert is currently deemed unsuitable for all recreational uses including boating and swimming.
