This weekend marked Perth’s 51st Telethon which aims to raise money for sick children in need, and WOW the people really went above and beyond this year.
Western Australians raised a total of $38,000,554 - a massive leap above last year’s $36m.
The record-breaking figure also carried the amount of money raised since the fundraising event began in 1968 to over a whopping $300 million!
Exiting Telethon Chairman Kerry Strokes will be honoured by incoming chairman Richard Goyder with the development of a world-class research program for children, aiming to study multiple diseases, mental health, disability, and prevention - titled The Kerry M. Stokes Chair of Child Health.
