The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for Perth, and the suburbs of Armadale, Dwellingup, Ellenbrook, Kalamunda, Midland, Mundaring and Pinjarra tonight, as heavy winds are set to sweep the region.
Winds of up to 90 kilometres and hour are expected to hit at around 8pm tonight and continue through until 8am on Thursday morning.
“This weather is not typical for this time of year and winds may cause damage to property and make road conditions hazardous,” the Bureau’s warning said.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services says people should keep away from trees, power lines and storm water drains, and also stay out of the ocean and off roads if possible.
If you must drive, keep an eye out for debris.
