Five men remain on the run after a group of inmates escaped from jail in Western Australia's Mid West and residents and motorists are being warned to lock their doors and windows.
The mass escape occurred during a disturbance at the maximum security Greenough Regional Prison, which houses men and women, near Geraldton on Tuesday afternoon, WA Police said.
Five inmates have now been caught, with another five still at large, police said on Wednesday.
"WA Police are sending resources from Perth and various regional stations to support local officers," a statement said.
A large police operation remains in place to catch the remaining escapees who are still believed to be in the area, 400km north of Perth.
"Police remind the public to be aware of their personal safety if travelling or living in the vicinity."
