A cyclist was stabbed in a carpark on Friday morning after he had an altercation with a driver in Kings Park earlier.
The 52-year-old was riding in the park with his wife when a vehicle overtook him in close proximity.
When the cyclist rode up alongside the car and told him that he had driven too close, the car drove off.
Both later bumped into each other again in the Zamia Cafe carpark, however, when the cyclist approached the man, things took a violent turn.
“He came out of the car with a knife,” he recalled to The West. “He hit me on my chest on the left-hand side.
“He hates bicycles. He didn’t like being told off. I stepped back and told my wife to call the police.” (article continues below)
Thankfully, the cyclist only sustained minor injuries.
“I thought he was going to say sorry, but when I approached him he stormed out of his car. I thought he had his key in his hand... when I looked down I was bleeding.”
Police are investigating the incident.
