A camera has been found hidden in one of the disabled toilet cubicles at the University of Western Australia.
Students have uncovered a camera elaborately planted in the bathroom, hidden under a stool wrapped in black plastic with toilet paper attached, made to look like rubbish.
The toilet was located in UWA’s Reid Library, which is open not only to uni students, but high schoolers and the general public as well.
The discovery on Saturday night was reported to WA Police who are currently undergoing an investigation.
Police say the digital camera found does not have live-streaming capabilities, however, can be pre-set to capture images and record at a scheduled time.
The penalty involved in a crime like this is around one year in jail, and seven years if a child is involved.
