Wanted Man 'Armed And Dangerous' In Newcastle

A man who stabbed three people at a gym on Sydney's northern beaches last night fled to Newcastle where he's robbed two local service stations.

Police say he made off in a stolen black BMW following the stabbing attack at Brookvale at around 8:00pm.

He drove to Shortland where he held up the Metro servo at knife point at 9:45pm.

A short time later he robbed the Mobil at Sandgate, before leading police on a short pursuit through Mayfield.

He remains on the run and police say he's armed and dangerous.

The BMW's registration plates are DKK-39Q.

He's described as being Caucasian, about 168cm tall, he has a full beard and aged in his mid to late 20's.

At the time of the robberies he was wearing black shorts and a light coloured T-shirt.

If you see him, call Crime Stoppers.
