Police are looking for the vandals who set fire to the old Wangi Wangi Power Station.

Four people were spotted breaking into the site on Summerhill Drive at around 4:00pm on Saturday afternoon.

They then started a fire on the third floor.

The group was spotted leaving the decommissioned power station in a blue two door hatchback, possibly with rego plates starting with BAL.

One male is described as Caucasian appearance, aged in his early 20s, of a slim build, and light brown hair.

Another male is described as Caucasian appearance, aged in his early 20s, of a slim build, with shoulder length wavy hair.

The other two males have only been described as Caucasian appearance, of slim builds, and with short hair.

Police say the power station has become a regular site for illegal activity including arson and BASE jumping.

“The people coming to these premises face significant risk to their personal safety due to the dilapidated condition of the site,” said Inspector Darryn Cox.

“Not only that, when they are caught, they face charges for trespassing on private property,” Inspector Cox said.
