Police Injured During Wild Hunter Pursuit

A driver is in custody following a wild police pursuit through the Hunter this morning.

Police initiated a chase after spotting a man driving a stolen car near the Hunter Expressway at Wallsend.

It's alleged the driver travelled to the wrong side of the Expressway during the chase.

He's then managed to evade road spikes while heading eastbound at Minmi.

Police managed to eventually force the car off the road, before the driver stole a silver Audi from another motorist and took off once again.

It's then alleged the stolen car reversed into an unmarked police car, leaving two officers with minor injuries after the car's airbags deployed.

A 22-year-old man was arrested at Dora Creek shortly after and taken to Toronto Police Station.
