Nine Injured In Hunter Valley Hot Air Balloon Crash

UPDATE:

Nine people are receiving treatment following this morning's hot air balloon crash in Pokolbin in the Hunter Valley.

The group - aged between 7 and 38 - suffered a range of injuries including broken bones and possible spinal injuries.

Paramedics are investigating whether a call to triple zero was made following the crash, as it appears patients were transported to hospital in private vehicles.

Inspector Rob Post says at this stage it looks as though the basket has had a bad landing.

"It appears there may have been contact with a tree during that process, and obviously things have gone awry and people have been injured."
