It's been revealed the Australian man seriously injured after being hit by a train in Canada earlier this week is a young man from Newcastle.
25 year old Pat Murphy remains in hospital, after undergoing full and partial limb amputations.
The accident happened at Revelstoke, British Columbia early last Saturday morning (local time).
Pat's loved ones have set up a Go Fund Me page to help cover his mounting medical costs, with nearly $40,000 raised in less than 24 hours.
"Our goal, and main focus now is to get Pat healthy and fit to get him back home to Newcastle, where he will undergo further medical procedures and intense rehabilitation," said Jade Shanks, who set up the page.
"This process includes specialist medical care, particularly expensive flights - just to name a few."
Pat moved to Canada in 2016 with his girlfriend Tammy.
