Miracle Bushwalkers Found Alive Near Singleton

A mother and son who went missing while bushwalking during the October long weekend have been found alive north of Singleton.

It's believed the 40-year-old woman and her nine-year-old went trekking in the Mount Royal National Park on October 1.

However the pair's car was only discovered in the park on Monday, sparking a four-day search involving police, the SES, paramedics and National Parks and Wildlife.

Incredibly both were found near Mount Royal Road just after midday today.

Paramedics say the pair used leaves to collect water, removed ticks and leeches from each out and tied grass around trees to mark their location during the ten days lost in bushland.
