A man has been seriously injured after being hit by a boat while kayaking at Port Stephens.
Emergency services were called to the Shoal Bay boat ramp, just after 7:00am, where they found the 46-year-old with serious injuries to his right hand and forearm.
It's believed he was struck by the boat's propeller.
The kayaker's been airlifted to the John Hunter by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter where he remains in a stable condition.
The 26-year-old man driving the boat was taken to Nelson Bay Community Hospital for mandatory testing, while Police have now seized the vessel for investigation.
