Port Stephens has welcomed its first dolphin calf of the summer.
It's believed one of the bay's resident dolphins became a first time mother on Australia Day, giving birth to the pint-sized bottlenose on January 26.
Imagine Cruises dolphin expert Lisa Skelton snapped this adorable photo on the weekend and says the pair looked very happy.
"Mum and calf appear to be doing well and are currently spending their days in the company of some of the Bay's most experienced mums," she said.
Around 90 to 120 bottlenose dolphins live permanently in the waters of Port Stephens.
