There is a high-risk scam email doing the rounds that will appear in your inbox like it has been sent from Netflix.
The email asks Netflix users to send their “updated payment information”.
Trevor Connolly from Dublin was quick to notice the scam and took to social media to warn others of the risks.
He has urged users to make sure they check the email addresses before clicking on their links in the emails
He received an email from ‘Natflix’ asking him to update his information.
While the spelling mistake is pretty clear, the rest of the email looked very professional and could fool a fair few people if you’re not paying attention.
Maïa Dunphy also took to social media to share with her followers that she had received a similar email.
A Netflix spokesperson has released a statement, saying, "Phishing scams are, unfortunately, very common and often exploit well known brands. Internet users should always be cautious when they receive an email request any personal information or credit card details. "If you get an email that looks suspiciously like a phishing attempt, please let us know by forwarding it to email@example.com ."
