The personal and payment details of thousands of Ticketmaster users have been compromised following a malicious software attack.

More than 40,000 British Ticketmaster customers have had their information compromised in the attack, and it’s believed Australians may have been hit too, the Adelaide Now reports.

The ticket company is yet to confirm whether Australian users were exports, but sent warnings to customers this morning saying it was working with forensic investigators, credit card companies and banks.

The breach affects those who used the site between September 2017 and June 23 this year.

“Whilst we have no evidence to suggest your data has been compromised, we are notifying you out of an abundance of caution,” the email explained.
