Swedish DJ Avicii has been found dead in Muscat, Oman at the age of 28.
"It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii," a representative said.
"He was found dead in Muscat, Oman, this Friday afternoon local time, 20 April.
"The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given."
No cause of death has been released.
Avicii was known for hit songs like Levels and Wake Me Up. He retired from live performance in 2016. His 2017 EP Avīci (01) was this week nominated for a Billboard Music Award.
