Just living close to a fast food joint can increase your risk of heart disease.

A new study has found proximity to fast food outlets can increase a person’s likelihood of developing heart disease by up to 17 per cent.

The incidence of coronary heart disease was about17 per cent greater among those who lived within 1km of five or more fast food outlets compared to none.

More than two million people were involved in the study, which looked at adults aged 35 years
