Thai government sources have revealed that there are as many as six films in development about the dramatic cave rescue earlier this month.
Such is the interest, Thailand's Ministry of Culture is expected to set up a special committee to deal with film projects.
“Five international film production companies have proposed to the commerce and foreign ministries that they make a movie and a documentary about the rescue operation,” Culture Minister Vira Rojpojchanarat said.
Some production teams were seen scouting the area before the rescue was even complete, with books on the rescue already announced.
The bold rescue effort saw 12 members of the Wild Boars soccer team and their coach saved from deep within a cave in the mountains in Tham Luang, several weeks after they became trapped.
