Australian menswear brand Roger David is the latest retail giant to go into voluntary administration.

After 76 years is business, the company has revealed they can no longer compete with the force of online shopping and multinational retailers.

“Today marks a sad day in the long history of Roger David menswear and for Australian retail” their statement reads.

“Despite the directors’ best efforts with the business, it simply could not compete with the influx of multinational retailers and the rapid, global evolution of online shopping.”

The company currently has 57 stores operating across the country, with over 300 staff.

It’s expected the stores’ doors will remain open over the Christmas period.
