In breaking news, it has been reported that forensic officers have started to pack up the excavation site in Bayview where an investigation was underway regarding missing Sydney woman Lyn Dawson.

The search was extended by a day after original plans were to finish up on Sunday.

Detectives have started removing equipment from the site, with police confirming that Lyn's remains or relevant items to the investigation have not been found.

A forensic examination and search of the former home of Lynette Dawson at Bayview has concluded. The operation, conducted as part of ongoing investigations into the suspected murder of Lynette Dawson, commenced last Wednesday (12 September 2018) and concluded today (Monday 17 September 2018). Police have not located Lynette’s remains or any items of interest to the investigation. Detectives from the Homicide Squad’s Unsolved Homicide Unit established Strike Force Scriven in 2015 to re-investigate Lynette’s disappearance and are committed to providing answers to her family.

Earth drilling equipment had been used by investigators in several areas around the house, with loose material transported in large bins which are being sifted through.

According to the Australian, concrete cutting technology has been on site but it is unclear if it has been used to cut into the concrete above the 'soft soil' area. Police have been working near this area.

Lyn Dawson went missing in 1982.
