A study has shown that 41 per cent of millennials would rather quit shampooing for a week rather than forego their smartphones.

According to the survey conducted by app-based phone service Visible, 54 per cent of the 1,180 respondents were willing to give up movies and TV for a month, while 28 per cent would give up their pet for the week instead, the Business Insider reports.

“It’s no secret that today’s consumer has a love-love relationship with their mobile phones. Phones are an extension of our fingers, they are the reason for our carpal tunnel, but not for the reasons you might think,” the survey states.

Surprisingly, almost 1 in 5 (17 per cent) of respondents also said they were willing to give up their toothbrush for the week in order to keep their phones.
