Kmart is recalling one of its 'home&CO' branded toasters thanks to a problem with the lever and heating element, that poses a potential electrocution hazard.

It affects the home&CO 2 Slice Stainless Steel Toaster with model number TL-136, sold at stores between September 2016 and November 2017.

Some of the toasters have a faulty switch, causing the heating element to remain "live" when the lever is up and the toaster appears turned off. Contact with the heating element may result in a severe electric shock of 240V.

Customers who own the toaster should stop using the product immediately and return it to your local store for a full refund. You can find more details on the Product Safety Australia website.
