Here's What Will Be Open During The Easter Long Weekend!

The Easter long weekend is finally here and if you're having to plan out your feast at the last minute, you're probably going to want to know what shops will be open in your area.

Well, luckily we have a good idea about where you can get your last minute choccies this weekend and where you can't...

SYDNEY & CANBERRA

Post

Sydney-siders will be pleased to know that quite a few restaurants and cafés will be open for business during the long weekend however, most will be closed on Good Friday.

Your local Coles, Woolworths, ALDI and IGA's will all be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday however, some smaller IGA's may be open for business...

Some supermarkets will open again on Saturday and Easter Monday, however, it is best to check with your local store as some stores may open whilst others will remain closed.

Big retailers such as Kmart and Target will definitely be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday however, will be open on Easter Saturday in some locations.

Again, it's best to check with your local store.

MELBOURNE

Post

Like Sydney, Melbourne will have a variety of restaurants and bars open for business every day during the long weekend, except Good Friday.

Coles, Woolworths, ALDI and IGA's will also be closed on Good Friday, with most metro locations remaining closed on Easter Sunday, however, some locations may be open for business on Saturday and easter Monday.

The best bet is to check their specific opening hours with your local store.

Same goes for Kmart and target, with all stores closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday and some locations opening their doors on Saturday and easter Monday.

So really, you're in the exact same boat as NSW.

BRISBANE

Post

Brissy, you're slightly different to the other east coast states.

You also have a variety of restaurants and cafés that will be open after Good Friday, but some of your supermarkets will actually be open on easter Sunday.

Coles, Woolworths, ALDI and your local IGA will be closed on Good Friday, but will open again on Saturday and on Easter Sunday in some locations.

Beware: this isn't every supermarket in the state, so be sure to check with your local store, just in case.

On Good Friday, all of the major shopping centres and stores will be closed, however they will be back in business for the rest of the weekend so you can grab some last-minute Easter deals!

ADELAIDE

Post

Oh, South Australia... why must you have things so tough?

During the Easter long weekend, a few restaurants and cafés will be open after Good Friday with only a select few closing on Easter Sunday... but that's the good news.

The bad news is that Coles, Woolworths, ALDI and most IGA's will be closed on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, meaning that if you need any last minute groceries, you're going to have to haul yourself down to your local supermarket on Saturday before everyone else does.

Your Kmarts and Targets will also be closed Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday... but at least Bunnings will be serving you snags from Saturday onwards!

Bunnings cares!

PERTH

Post

Those in Perth will pleased to know that there are PLENTY of cafés and restaurants that are happy to feed you over the long weekend, so if you're not one for cooking, you'll be able to get a nice meal no matter where you are in the city!

As for your supermarket schedule, it's very similar to Sydney's and Melbourne's, with all Coles, Woolworths, ALDI and IGA locations closed on Good Friday and opening again on Saturday.

Some locations may close again on Easter Sunday, so it's best to check with your local store in case they do decide to lock up.

Other retail stores will be closed on Good Friday and may open again on Saturday and Easter Sunday, again, it's best to double check!

DARWIN

Post

Those in Darwin will be able to go and grab a bite at The Waterfront on Good Friday, with a fair few restaurants welcoming hungry patrons.

Local supermarkets will be closed on Good Friday, but may open their doors again on Saturday and Easter Sunday, but that's not guaranteed so like everyone else, you're going to have to double check.

Large retail stores will also be closed on Good Friday, but will open for business again on Saturday and possibly Easter Sunday, but again, pop your head in and ask before they shut up shop.

HOBART

Post

In Hobart you may find a few cafés and restaurants open after Good Friday and like most states, supermarkets will shut up shop on Good Friday.

Some Coles, Woolworths, ALDI and IGA locations may re-open on Saturday and Easter Sunday, but double check that they do before you're left without something good for breakfast.

Most shopping centres will be closed on Good Friday and may open again on Saturday, in case you needed another table setting for your Easter feast!

Happy Easter, everyone!
