Actor George Clooney is lucky to be alive after his scooter was hit by a Mercedes in Olbia on the island of Sardinia yesterday.

The Ocean’s Eleven actor told friend and CNN contributor, John Avlon, he was travelling 65 mph when the vehicle cut in from of him, saying it’s “good to be alive.”

According to CNN, the father-of-two was flung nine metres from the car after he had smashed the windshield with this head.

Olbia police commander Giovanni Mannoni has stated Clooney did not suffer any serious injuries or broken bones, however, he will be monitored by hospital staff over the next 20 days as he recovers at home.

Clooney will then resume filming his current project, starring in an upcoming miniseries based on the Joseph Heller classic Catch-22.
