Hundreds of tributes are pouring in across the globe for the New Zealand cat with opposable thumbs that took the world by storm.
Paddles made headlines across the globe when a Twitter account dubbing her the First Cat Of New Zealand was set up by a mystery user after Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern's election.
Not long after Jacinda's victory, however, Paddles was tragically hit and killed by a car in the Auckland suburb of Mt Albert.
"Paddles was much loved and not just by us. Thanks for everyone's thoughts," the Prime Minister said on social media.
The white and ginger cat is owned by Ardern and her partner Clarke Gayford.
