A warning for parents to strap their babies into prams.

Researchers have found that between 2006 and 2012 3,500 kids presented to hospitals across Australia after falls from prams and strollers.

708 of those were admitted with injuries including skull fractures and open wounds, while 6% had broken limbs.

The research by Queensland University of Technology found prams and strollers which were used incorrectly posed the greatest risk to children under a year old.

Kidsafe SA says while we're often rushing around and tempted to leave children unstrapped for short trips it's important to use the five-point harness every time.
