Central Coast skiier Matt Graham won the first medal for Australia of the winter games, taking out a silver in the men’s freestyle moguls in Pyeongchang overnight.
“I’m so happy for him. Words can’t even describe it,” his sister Heidi O’Neill told the Hit Network. She said she was in tears watching him win last night.
“We’re so proud of him, words can’t even describe it.”
His parents, grandparents and brother and sister are all in South Korea celebrating with the Olympian.
Heidi said the Central Coast local grew up going to the snow on family holidays– where he developed his love of skiing.
“Matt was a good little skier, he’s pretty good at everything,” she said he started off competing as a child and demonstrated a lot of potential.
