It’s a common conversation between women: “I feel fat today” “My legs look huge” “I need to eat less.”  

But engaging in fat talk isn’t likely to make us feel better about our bodies any time soon.

So how to we stop?  We asked  The Butterfly Foundation CEO, Christine Morgan, for some tactics to change how we talk about our bodies.

“I think the damage that’s being done is that we’ve putting value judgement on it. So it’s not just stating a fact that I’m overweight or somebody is losing weight.

“The damage is when we couple our self worth - how we value ourselves with our body size or weight. Because we’re worth so much more than our size or our weight.

“We say something is good if  are getting smaller and bad if they are getting bigger.”
