The new Warrell Creek stretch of the Pacific Highway will open to traffic on Friday.

NSW Roads Minister and Member for Oxley, Melinda Pavey, confirmed the news this morning.

The latest completion will mean that 80 percent of the Highway upgrades from Hexham to the Queensland border are complete.

“All the land owners and residents at Warrell Creek have had to put up with a lot during the construction, I don’t think there will be any more excited people than those Warrell Creek people”, Ms Pavey said.

Local emergency service workers and volunteers have been invited to the opening on Friday.

“What they have had to deal with over a very long time gave us our arm to get this funded. They need to be a very big part of this on Friday”, Ms Pavey said.

The latest completion means dual carriage way from Hexham to almost Grafton.
