A big upgrade for Port Macquarie airport on the horizon, 7.5 million dollars to see a modernising of facilities and expansion of floor space.
The announcement made at the airport yesterday, Lyne MP David Gillespie, Cowper MP Luke Hartsuyker, Port Macquarie MP Leslie Williams and Mayor Peta Pinson all working together to get the deal done.
The current terminal is now 23 years old and with passenger numbers doubling over the past decade, it can no longer meet demand.
Of the 7.5 million, 5 million will come from state government, federal government and council chipping in 1.25 million.
The detailed plans are up on councils website, construction set to begin in 2018.
