An elderly man has had a lucky escape after his South Kempsey house went up in flames early this morning.
The man - believed to be in his 60s - got out of the West End Road property as flames engulfed it just before 2:30am.
The home was destroyed but a number of other dwellings on the lot were unscathed.
Mid North Coast Police are investigating the incident.
