There's chaos on the trains this afternoon, with commuters left stranded following major delays and disruptions for those travelling on the Metro and V/Line services.
The delays will result in many having a late night, with Gippsland passengers already warned that they're in for a wait of at least two hours.
This comes after a track fault in the metro area, with Bairnsdale passengers unable to catch a train for 140 minutes and the Morewell line delayed by over 110 minutes.
Trarlgon commuters have been advised that services will not be running at all.
Cranbourne and Pakenham commuters are also warned to delay their trip or consider other options, with 80-plus minute delays on the cards.
"We sincerely apologise to our passengers for major delays on the Cranbourne and Pakenham line this afternoon," Metro director of operations Ron Bria said.
"We're asking passengers to plan ahead, defer their travel if possible and consider other transport options."
Passengers are advised to check the Metro website for more information.
Over 60 buses have been deployed to supplement train services.
